Council wishes to procure the design and construction of the Sarina Water Recycling Facility (SWRF) that it proposes to have constructed at the Site.
The SWRF is being developed to replace the existing Sarina STP, which uses outdated technology incapable of meeting future discharge requirements. The existing STP is located close to residential development on a site which is too small to allow augmentation or replacement. Council intends to decommission the existing STP. That decommissioning will not be carried out by the Contractor.
Environmental and development approval for the Project, by way of a Material Change of Use application to DERM, has been submitted and development conditions required by DERM are anticipated to be available prior to awarding the Contract.
