Revision of Zone Coding to Australian Bureau of Statistics SA1 Geography
The 2011 census undertaken by the Australian Bureau of Statistics was based on revised statistical geographic boundaries (SA1). The current Brisbane Strategic Transport Models – multimodal and version 6 are currently based on the previous geography.
Transport and Main Roads in partnership with Brisbane City Council, now require a contractor to manage and implement updated model zone systems to reflect the new ABS geographic areas in the Brisbane Strategic Transport Models. The new zone system will ensure the model is consistent with national (ABS) and state level statistics including population and employment.
