Transport and Main Roads requires the purchase of additional test fluid for the Bitumen Sprayer Calibration Facility located in Nundah. The test fluid (oil) is used to simulate hot bitumen during testing of bitumen sprayers. During an audit in 2010 the oil was found to be contaminated. At that time all the oil was disposed but only 4,000 litres was purchased as a replacement. This reduced volume of oil requires multiple cleaning and refilling cycles to be performed for each sprayer. This is increasing the test time of a sprayer by many hours.
The purchase of an additional 9,000 litres of test fluid complying with the requirements of AustRoads Test Method AG:PT/T536 Viscosity of Test Fluid. Price to include delivery to the TMR, Bitumen Sprayer Calibration Facility, Cnr Nellie Street and Mill Place, Nundah, Qld, 4012 . This will improve operational efficiency .
