Secondment based service located at Level 16, 313 Adelaide St, Brisbane City. The required service is to provide technical governance & policy advice across a wide range of areas to support the technical/engineering business’ needs, including professional practices, legislative programs and risk management.
The Contractor must be able to operate at a high level of autonomy and have a strong comprehensive working knowledge of the engineering and operational processes within TMR, including the challenges of maintaining sound technical governance and compliance.
The Contractor will need to be able to respond to requests with very short timeframes in order to meet consistently changing business needs/demands and timelines.

Critically augmenting the technical capability and capacity within E&T and works undertaken for the Office of the Chief Engineer adhering to TMR’s probity and accountability requirements.
The contractor’s role will vary in scope, complexity and nature based on response to unique requirements, specific projects relating to technical policy and governance. It is anticipated that the contractor will work approximately 20 hours per week on average, but working arrangements will be driven by demand.
It is a requirement that the successful contractor is available for this initial one year contract, and possible extension period/s. If for any reason the contractor has to terminate the contract, for consistency purposes they can not be replaced by another specialist from their firm. For clarity, it is expected that an individual specialist will be engaged through this tender and not a team of specialists providing components of the service.
This specialist policy and technical governance advice will initially be required for a one year term, with two possible extensions of one year each. The contractor will be required to cover specific engineering projects relating to technical policy and governance.
