The Department of Environment and Resource Management’s WorkingSAFE WorkingWELL Strategy is an integrated organisational health strategy. It incorporates traditional workplace health and safety approaches and integrated human resource strategies, that together, aim to boost employee involvement, decrease exposure to harm and achieve excellence in organisational health management.

The influenza vaccination program is a key activity undertaken under the health and wellbeing element of the strategy and has been organisationally proven to be effective in preventing and managing organisational absence costs. Providing all departmental employees with the opportunity to obtain flu vaccinations, no matter where they are located, is the primary objective of the program.
