Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) have recently completed a review of the existing vermin proofing installed on the potable water reservoirs throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset. The review included a combination of visual inspections from the ground, review of recent Condition Assessment Reports and information collected by divers during planned maintenance activities (diver cleaning, sedimentation inspections, etc).
The purpose of the review was to understand the current condition of vermin proofing across all the reservoirs and to identify a list of reservoirs that have inadequate vermin proofing requiring attention in order to maintain a secure water supply and prevent vermin entry.
