| Recently, Racing Queensland advertised for responses through QTenders for suitably experienced providers to implement a Business Intelligence System (BIS) to enable reporting and analysis of data for management, compliance and decision making.
This tender closed on Tuesday 20 May 2014.
However, it has been identified that there was some confusion amongst Tenderers in the submission requirements resulting in inconsistent applications being received impacting on the integrity of the tender process. RQ is committed to maintaining integrity and transparency throughout all tender processes and as such is re-advertising for this BIS requirement.
All previous responses submitted to RQ will no longer be considered and we are now seeking for those who originally responded to resubmit their tender responses. RQ also welcomes any new tenderers wishing to respond. The closing date for all tender response is 5PM Friday 6th June 2014. All responses must be submitted through QTenders only.
There has been no material change to the original requirement specification. Tenderers should note however that given the time involved for this re-advertising of the RFT, RQ has now noted under section 1.3 of the RFT document that ‘RQ wishes to commence implementation of a system in the current financial year’.
The closing date and submission lodgment (section 2.5 of the RFT document) has changed.

RQ wishes to commence implementation of a system in the current financial year (prior to 30 June 2014) and has budgeted $50,000 (ex GST) for the initial phase (phase 1 refer sections 4.2 – 4.4 of this tender document) of the implementation.
The initial phase (phase 1) will involve the import and reporting on wagering data from spread sheets from the totalisator and licensed wagering operators and also thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing data from spread sheets.
Data imported will be in the form of spread sheets (CSV format files).
RQ intends on developing the BIS in phases in the next financial year (FY14/15) which will involve:
- Budget forecasting
- Modelling of financial data
- Automation of the preparation and distribution of reporting for the RQ boards
- Integration of additional data sources
- Extend the BIS to race clubs both in terms of data and remote access
