Construction of a Walkway and Lookout in the Cardwell Range
The Cardwell Range lookout located approximately 38kms South of Cardwell, 15km north of Ingham and attracts thousands of viewers each year offering panoramic scenic views of the world heritage listed Hinchinbrook Island, Hinchinbrook channel and of the Port of Lucinda.
Due to the realignment of the high voltage transmission lines and highway upgrade the current lookout’s view has been interrupted by the transmission lines. In conjunction with power link Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is undertaking the construction of a lookout structure capable of offering unrestricted views of the island, channel and port.
This project involves the construction of a lookout facility within the National Park on the Cardwell Range since the completion of a major highway upgrade over the Cardwell Range between Ingham and Cardwell and the realignment of the high voltage power transmission lines in the same location.
Only one Offeror will be awarded the contract.
