Yourka Nature Refuge Erosion Control
Yourka Nature Refuge is a prioritised property within Queensland; it has been identified as one of the highest ranked properties likely to show resilience to climate change and is classed as ‘suitable’ for nature refuge assessment. As part of the Girringun North Aggregation, Yourka represents a viable target for nature refuge negotiations and Special Activities.
A range of works, described as Special Activities, that contribute to the protection and enhancement of significant natural values are to be undertaken as contracts managed by the department.
Special Activities to be carried out on the nature refuge including upgrading vehicle access tracks for fire management purposes, constructing stock fencing will be completed by 31st October 2015.
This contract is for the complete Erosion control and Dam decomissioning component at Yourka Nature Reserve.
