Package 1 - Early Works Package for the Gateway Upgrade North (GUN) project
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR or the “Principal”) invites suitably prequalified organisations (the “Applicant”) to apply for registration (the “Application”) to submit a Tender for the construction of the Early Works package for the Gateway Upgrade North (GUN) project.
Prequalification Requirements
Minimum prequalification levels applicable to the Contract are R4, B1, F6 under TMR’s Major Works Prequalification System (or R4 B1 F100 under National Prequalification System). Documentation will only be provided to suitably prequalified contractors.
Description of the Contract
The contract entails (1) preloading of embankments, including wick drains and surcharge (2) construction of temporary and permanent drainage (3) possible relocation of existing PUP services (4) accommodation works within Nudgee Golf Course site.
The works will be adjacent to the Gateway Motorway which is highly trafficked with 75,000 vehicles per day, therefore successful and safe delivery of the project will require well planned and managed traffic management. The contractor will be working in an area with possible contaminated land and/or acid sulphate soils. It also requires a contractor with the resources and management capability in earthworks, drainage construction and service relocations to complete the works in a timely manner. To assist in ensuring a suitable contractor is selected, a 2 stage selection process has been adopted.
Additional Requirements
The successful applicant is required to be registered under the Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme as the project is federally funded. The Queensland Government Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry (Queensland Code) also applies to this project.
Industry Briefing
No industry briefing is programmed for this contract.
