The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) requires the services of an organisation to upgrade the existing irrigation system at Bundaberg Research Facility, 49 Ashfield Road, Bundaberg.
This is a major upgrade to the existing irrigation system. The Ashfield Road pump house containing two very old and inefficient pumps (small one unable to deliver project needs) will be replaced by two new systems (to be computer controlled via wireless signals). The first being a large variable speed pump to run Travelling irrigators , and the second being a bank of four pumps to deliver varying amounts of water from low to high volumes, on demand, to service project requirements, which currently can only be met by a labour intensive, inefficient process.
This new system is very complex in design , and also involves upgrading some existing submains and adding some new submains.
The system is essential to meet project demands in a water and labour efficient manner.
