Determining fixed and reserve prices for unallocated water held as general reserve in Quuensland
The objective of this project is to set fixed and reserve prices per megalitre for future unallocated release processes in each Queensland wate resource plan area. The department is proposing to engage a consultant to develop a base model with inputs (water availability, water reliability and key irrigated agricultural commodities in each catchment) to determine a recommended price per megalitre for each catchment. Applying appropriate methodology to determine reserve and fixed prices will ensure that there is fairness and consistency in prices across the State.
