Additional work to automate the Transport Network Strategic Investment Tool (TRANSIT) – Phase 1 of end user development
This project supports the Department’s strategic objective to Build sector capacity and industry resilience with regards to production costs. The project will do this by delivering a tool that will better enable the DAF Animal Industries unit to work with the cattle industry and the Department of Transport and Main Roads to run scenarios and identify cattle transport efficiencies. This work will directly support the Department’s strategy to Work with industry to develop supply-chain efficiency, timing and economies of scale in commodity movement.
The project will deliver a one-off product (improved model tool for DAF staff to run TRANSIT). It will also provide the first Phase in developing an end user version of TRANSIT (eg for use directly by industry) should further development be warranted in the future.
