Department of Education and Training (the Department) places significant importance on ensuring the safety of students, staff and visitors within all Queensland state-owned educational facilities. The Department has recognised a potential risk from diseases effectively transmitted by mosquitoes, significantly Ross River virus and Dengue fever. As part of the Department’s action measures to control these diseases, roof gutter protection systems will be installed to the existing gutters at educational facilities where required to restrict the mosquitoes from accessing and breeding in water that may sit in the unprotected roof gutters due to damp leaf matter.
The objectives of the Invitation to Offer (ITO) are to seek offers from professional organisations to establish a Standing Offer Arrangement for the supply and installation of roof gutter protection systems at Queensland state-owned educational facilities throughout Queensland when required.
The Department’s goal is to engage a suitably experienced company(s) to supply and install roof gutter protection systems for Queensland state-owned educational facilities throughout Queensland when required under a Standing Offer Arrangement. An initial seventeen (17) educational facilities in Far North Queensland will be utilising the arrangement with works to be completed by the 30 June 2015.
The Department’s intention is to establish a Standing Offer Arrangement to drive value through competitiveness in costs and deliver desirable levels of service whilst ensuring compliance with the Queensland Government’s standards and policies.
