Provision of Labour Hire Services
The National Four Tropical Weeds Eradication Program (NFTWEP), Biosecurity Queensland, requires short-term labour supply to fulfil field surveillance operations, particularly during the drier months of the year (April- November). The NFTWEP will require 21 casual labour hire field staff based out of three operational field offices – South Johnstone, Cairns and Mossman. Eleven casuals are currently employed through a previous procurement process until the end of June 2015 (when the current National Cost-Share funding ends), and this will increase by a further 10 casuals to meet additional surveillance as detailed in the Response Plan 2015-18. These casuals will be required for the remainder of the dry season, from July to mid-December 2015. These casual staff will be in addition to the current temporary contract staff employed by Biosecurity Queensland to deliver the surveillance components of the NFTWEP Response Plan.
