Review and Update Dam Safety documentation
Non Commercial Assets (NCA) is part of the Department of Energy and Water Supply (DEWS) and has a portfolio of 23 dams, weirs, barrages and levee systems throughout Queensland. These include 3 referable dams which are Copperfield River Gorge Dam, Corella and Crooks Dam. The purpose of the NCA unit is to act as custodians for the NCA Infrastructure and ensure that they comply with mandatory regulations, continue to provide the agreed level of service and protect the existing value of the asset.
Changes have been made to the early warning systems at Crooks and Corella dams recently. These changes need to be incorporated into revised emergency action plans. As part of the changes, scenario testing and training is proposed to ensure best practices are being achieved across these DEWS non-commercial assets and also act as a how to for NCA officers to be able to run the Scenario testing and training in the future at other NCA structures with EAP officers.
