Intermodal Terminal Demand Assessment and Potential Efficiency Gains for the North Queensland Resource Supply Chain in North West Queensland
The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals for the provision of intermodal terminal demand assessment and potential efficiency gains for the North Queensland Resource Supply Chain (NQRSC) in North West Queensland. It includes the identification and analysis of the need, demand and location of inter-modal facilities as an interface between road and rail to assist in better infrastructure use of the road and rail network of the North Queensland Resources Supply Chain (NQRSC) between Mount Isa and Charters Towers..
Depending on requirements these goods / services specifically include:
Determine the immediate, medium and long term demand for inter-modal facilities for all commodities existing on the NQRSC.
Analysis of the best-fit inter-modal facilities and general geographical locations, to cater for identified demand.
Identify the efficiencies and opportunities that may arise from the development of different model inter-modal facilities being established in various locations along the NQRSC.
Identification of constraints within the NQRSC for establishment of inter-modal facilities, including regulatory, operational, existing land-use, existing operations, planning, land tenure, environmental, market conditions and capacity.
Identify and analysis of appropriate cost sharing models for different model inter-modal facilities being established, relevant to the road and rail interface of the NQRSC between Mount Isa and Charters Towers.
With relevance to the cost-sharing model, apply a site selection criteria and decision making methodology for future site options identification.
