Queensland Knowledge Economy Study

The key requirements for this study are to clearly define what the Queensland knowledge economy currently comprises (what is included and excluded), outlining the importance of the knowledge economy and how it contributes to higher productivity, employment and economic growth. To deliver on the study requirements the project should involve:

  • Quantitative Research – quantitative analysis of existing data (including trend data) covering the Queensland economy, with specific focus on the knowledge economy.  This should include comparisons with other jurisdictions as well as comparison with historical economic growth (i.e. in traditional strength areas).
  • Limited stakeholder engagement – qualitative research could include engagement with industry experts and academics as well as government practitioners with a strong history in the development of the knowledge economy.
