Queensland Rail, with some 8,000 kilometres of standard and narrow gauge railway track, 6,000 employees and assets of $5.1 billion, is one of Australia’s largest rail transport providers. It services 211 stations with a fleet of 189 passenger trains, making 65 million passenger trips each year. It operates one of Australia's largest rail networks and is also an industry leader in passenger transport, network and infrastructure services with a strong reputation in safety, sustainability, service, innovation and reliability. One of the core functions of Queensland Rail is the provision of fast, safe and comfortable passenger services within the Brisbane metropolitan area and key regional centres across the State.
