Maleny Showgrounds Gravity Sewer New 225mm
A hydraulic incapacity in a DN150 gravity sewer was identified in the Draft Landsborough and Maleny Growth Management Plan (2011). The section of the DN150 sewer that was identified as being deficient originates at Cedar Grove Road and drains along the property boundaries to Coral Street where it runs parallel with Obi Obi Creek for 100 m before crossing over the creek into the Maleny showgrounds. In the showground, the sewer drains east discharging into the Maleny sewer pumping station 130 m from the creek crossing.
The scope of works involved in addressing this deficiency includes:
Install 121 m of new DN225 uPVC SN8 gravity sewer via open excavation with 100 m over the roadway at the Maleny Showgrounds;
Install 31 m of new DN225 uPVC SN8 gravity sewer via auger bore at the Maleny Showgrounds;Install 32 m of new DN225 XTREME gravity sewer to replace the existing 150 DICL sewer main over Obi Obi Creek;
Install 40 m of new DN225 uPVC SN8 gravity sewer via open excavation under Lot 1 (House no. 59, Coral Street);
Install 53 m of new DN225 uPVC gravity sewer via auger bore under Coral Street;
Install 42 m of new DN225 uPVC SN8 gravity sewer main via open excavation under Lot 180 (House no. 24, Coral Street);
Install new OD250 PE100 SDR21 gravity sewer main in 46 m pipe crack of existing DN150 uPVC gravity sewer main;

The sewer is to remain live during construction and augmentation; Over pumping is required in a few instances and will be managed completely by the Contractor in any weather type; and All pipe shall be supplied by the Principal.
