Draft Redlands Planning Scheme - Planning
The Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning has produced a guideline, Delivering Prosperity and Growth through Planning Schemes which informs local government planners, councillors and consultants about ways that planning schemes can better deliver development outcomes through planning schemes. It provides an understanding of complex issues and risks associated with plan drafting and the unintended consequences and adverse impacts on the feasibility of development projects.
The Project will consider the methodologies contained in the guideline to review the draft planning scheme and test the perceived balance and effectiveness of the draft planning scheme in managing growth and development, giving consideration to:
• the ease with which desired development can be undertaken;
• the ease with which economic activities that support jobs growth can occur;
• an appropriate level of regulation to minimise impacts on the community and maintain liveability; and
• the protection of key environmental values from significant development related risks.
