This project has arisen as part of Murrumba Downs STP scheduled maintenance review and the discovery of a defective lifting arrangement. The lifting system is presently flawed due to the inability to certify or replace the diffuser grid lifting cables as they are moused to the diffuser grids submersed in the sewage. The existing lifting system is effectively condemned and not fit for purpose.
The scheduled maintenance needed, involves lifting thirty seven (37) diffuser grids out of the bioreactors, conducting inspections and performing preventative maintenance works on each grid.
This Contract requires the Contractor to complete all necessary maintenance activities on each of the 37 diffuser grids, removal of the old lifting system and all its componentry and fabricating and fitting the newly pre-fabricated lifting system in strict accordance with the design drawings provided and Australian Standards.
The detailed breakdown of scope can be reviewed in section 3.22, “Technical Scope of Works”.
