Mackay Regional Council (MRC) requires a suitably experienced contractor to construct a new trunk water main along Connors Road from Crichtons Road to Cooks Lane. This new main will connect to the existing trunk mains located in Crichtons Road and Cooks Lane. The new main will be of 600mm Ø from Crichtons Road through to the future Stockroute Road intersection. From this future intersection, the new trunk main will then reduce to 450mm Ø until Cooks Lane.
The works also include a crossing of Connors Road and a thrust bored crossing of the existing railway line in the vicinity of the future Stockroute Road intersection with Connors Road. These crossings involve the installation of a 600mm Ø section heading westward into the new road reserve being proposed for the Stockroute Road extension. This 600mm Ø off-take will allow future extension within the new reserve for Stockroute Road that will eventually connect back to the Bruce Highway. Also included in the works is a 200mm cross-connection across the Crichtons Road / Connors Road intersection to facilitate the abandonment of the existing 300mm Ø AC main that runs parallel with the western road reserve boundary of Connors Road.
