Bowen Strategic Flood Modelling Study
This study will provide a hydrological analysis of the study area, which will include developing a flood model. The results of the flood analysis must identify land which may and land which may not be suitable for future urban development, in respect to flooding. The analysis must consider current developments and approved developments, along with existing and proposed mitigation strategies. The study must investigate mitigation strategies which may increase the suitability of land for future urban development, in respect to flooding. The analysis must allow for local flooding, river overflow, storm surge and sea level rise.
The consultant will identify the flooding impacts of developing the land identified as being suitable for urban development, in respect to flooding. Impacts on adjoining properties and surrounding areas must be identified and advice on how the developments may be designed to minimise or eliminate the flooding impacts must be provided.
