Surveillance Contractors for Panama TR4 Program
Panama Program – established by the Queensland Government in 2015 in response to the detection of Panama disease Tropical Race 4 (Panama TR4) in far north Queensland. The program is to protect the horticultural industry (Banana Growers) from a disease which has had devastating impacts on commercial production in the Northern Territory and internationally. The importance of the banana industry to regional north Queensland and the Queensland economy overall is significant.
The Panama Tropical Race 4 Program requires the enagement of Surveillance officers and team leaders for the purpose of the detection disease in banana fruit.
