DEWS is responsible for managing a suite of non-commercial water assets (dams, weirs,levess), including Glen Niven Dam, a referable dam in south-east Qld, which is owned by the Qld Government.  The scope of work includes a Remote Sensing Alert System (RSAS) to be installed and commissioned at Glen Niven Dam to monitor rainfall and reservoir levels at the dam.  This capability is needed to effectively manage the dam during emergency situations, as the communication strategy in Glen Niven Dam's Emergency Action Plan (EAP) relies on accurate knowledge of the reservoir levels.  Without the RSAS, DEWS does not comply with the EAP.
