~~Arts Queensland - Arts Properties and Facilities  - has a requirement for a suitably qualified contractor for the Cremorne Theatre Upgrade Project – Early Procurement of Theatre Seating System.

BACKGROUND

The Cremorne Theatre, part of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) constructed in 1985, houses local based companies and supports a significant contribution to the community for smaller scale theatre productions. The theatre consists of 218 stall and 94 balcony seats (312 seats in total) however lacks the flexibility required to effectively deal with the range of uses for this venue.
To enable greater utilisation and functionality within the venue, Arts Queensland, as building owner has been successful in receiving a capital funding injection to upgrade existing infrastructure (stage and seating) and theatrical equipment (production lighting) and balcony modification works subject to buildability, heritage considerations and budget.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

  • Full compliance with the Technical Specification;
  • Attendance at Mandatory Site Inspection ; ◦Only Companies who attend the Mandatory Site Inspection will be eligible to submit an offer;

 Companies who are registered as a “Family Trust” or established under any form of “Trust” must submit current copy of the Trust / Deed, Certificates and associated documentation as part of their response.

MANDATORY SITE INSPECTION

A Mandatory Site Inspection (MSI) of the Cremorne Theatre will take place at 10:00am on Friday, 25 November 2017 - Tenderers are to meet at QPAC’s Stage Door security desk in the QPAC tunnel no later than 9.45am.  This is to ensure Site Inspection is conducted on time and to be fair to all Tenderers.

Please note: Late attendees will be admitted.

IMPORTANT MIS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Suppliers are to familiarise themselves with the tender documents thoroughly prior to registering for the site inspections to ensure they:
•Have the required capacity and capability to appropriately resource the complex requirements of this tender; and
•Can comply with the site inspection requirements which is limited to two (2) representatives only at any one time during the scheduled activities, one (1) of which must be from the offering entity at all times.

We request that any entity wishing to attend, ensure they register their details promptly via the method indicated in Section 2, Clause 2.3.2.6 of the Additional Provisions.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION

Tenderers for the supply and installation of theatre staging system are advised that a Head Contractor will be contracted to undertake full delivery of the overall refurbishment works of the Cremorne Theatre upon appointment in March 2017. The successful tenderer for this project AQ 046/2017 will be a "nominated subcontractor" to the Head Contractor for the Supply and Installation component of works. Refer Clause 3.4.11.3 of the Additional Provisions
