Provision of Slipping and Maintenance for the Reef Heron
The Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, requires slipping, hard-stand and associated vessel maintenance services for Marine Park vessel “Reef Heron”.
Background:
• The MP patrol vessel Reef Heron is an 18.2 metre GRP mono hull twin engine with a beam of 5.1m and weight of approximately 26 ton.The vessel is capable of cruising speed of 17 knots. In addition to year round regular maintenance, the vessel is slipped annually for requirements of survey.
• This vessel is a valuable asset and a crucial tool in providing timely transport, accommodation and work platform capability allowing GBR Marine Region staff to achieve objectives of Field Management Program (FMP) Annual Business Plan (ABP).
