Supply of a Queensland Cruise Base Port Study

The study is being undertaken to identify the way forward for Queensland to maximise its economic potential as a base port destination of choice for the cruise and the adventure/expedition cruise shipping sectors. The intention is to take advantage of continuing strong growth in the cruise sector to ensure Queensland maintains and enhances its competitive advantages and is positioned to optimise potential economic and job creation outcomes into the future. This will include:
• a strategic view of Queensland’s capacity, potential, competitive position, niche opportunities and challenges in the short, medium and long term
• recommendations for action by the Queensland Government and the tourism industry (and supply chain) to maximise economic returns and job creation for Queensland from base porting
