Labour Hire for Four Tropical Weed Eradication Program
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Biosecurity Queensland has been tasked on behalf of the Australian Government and State and Territory jurisdictions to manage and deliver the national cost-shared eradication program for the National Four Tropical Weed Eradication Program (NFTWEP).
Due to the nature of each weed species and the climate of the north Queensland work locations, the labour demand for the scheduled surveillance activities is seasonal and dependent on weather conditions.
To allow DAF to meet its obligations set by the funding partners and meet the yearly operational surveillance targets the use of seasonal temporary contract labour to supplement its core workforce is essential.
