QRP1709 - Power Supervisory System Upgrade
The Power Supervisory System (PSS) is a computer based control system that monitors and controls the overhead electrical network using CitectSCADA 6.10 Service Pack A software. It receives indications and sends controls from/to the 90 RTUs located in the field. This system displays a graphical representation of the status of all the Circuit Breakers, Motorised Isolators, Hand Isolators, Line Segments and Transformer sources. The system was last upgraded in 2007 therefore software and hardware utilized is mostly end of life and no longer supported.
The intent of this project is to provide a mid-life upgrade to the system to utilize modern and supported software and hardware. The upgrade will also involve implementing several enhancements to the functionality as well as security best practices.
