Security Services for Queensland Explosives Reserve - Queerah

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Explosives Inspectorate, is responsible for the operation of the Queensland Government Explosives Reserves (GER), which are located at:
o Helidon – approximately 110 km west of Brisbane;
o Bajool – approximately 35kms south of Rockhampton;
o Brookhill – approximately 20 km south of Townsville; and
o Queerah – approximately 12 km south of Cairns.


The objectives of the individual Security contracts for each of the GER’s are:
• To ensure security services are fit for purpose for each reserve,
• To ensure the provider has the ability to increase or decrease levels of security cover, in a timely manner, both in quantity and profile depending on specific risk factors.
• To provide an effective delivery of security services to the GER’s with a formalised agreement.


The complete contract requirements are specified in Schedule 1 of the attached ‘Contract Details’.
