The Queensland Government is seeking offers for Ship Preparation, Towage and Scutting Services for ex-HMAS Tobruk to create a world-class dive site of the Queensland coast.
The Ship is to be prepared in Bundaberg Queensland, and scuttled in the waters of Hervey Bay Queensland
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
a) Project management and co-ordination with subcontractor/s;
b) Ship preparation works, including identification and removal of harzardous/problematic substances, materials or items, cleaning and preparation as a dive site;
c) Dive Design (in consultation with the Principal) and documentation of the ship as a dive site;
d) Scuttling design and scuttling preparation works;
e) Towage of the ship to the scuttling site;
f) Managing the scuttling of the ship and conducting all nominated post scuttling activitives;
g) Ensuring that all relevant legislative and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the works are met;
h) Control and security of the Ship, its moorings and the designated preparation and operational areas for the term of the contract;
i) Reinstatement of the designated preparation areas to the pre-works state including removal of any contaminants, and recovery of equipment.
