Queensland Hydroelectric and Pumped Storage Study
The Queensland Hydroelectric and Pumped Storage Study (the study) are to enable the Queensland Government to gain a clear understanding of:
• Queensland’s hydroelectric and pumped storage potential;
• The role and viability of hydroelectric and pumped storage in Queensland’s current future energy mix; and
• Options for the development of these technologies in the state.
The study will be conducted in two stages comprising:
• Stage 1 – A review and summary of previous studies undertaken on hydroelectric and pumped storage generation in Queensland; and
• Stage 2 – A multi-criteria assessment of possible sites for the development of hydroelectric and pumped storage generation capacity.
