Community Recovery Ex Tropical Cyclone Debbie Financial Counsellor Scenic Rim
In March 2017, Tropical Cyclone Debbie with the associated rainfall and flooding, severely impacted individuals and communities in the Whitsunday, Mackay, Isaac, Rockhampton, Scenic Rim, Logan City and Gold Coast areas. The purpose of this procurement activity is to provide medium to longer-term support to disaster affected individuals and communities to affect their own recovery and build resilience to future events.
The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (DCCSDS) in consultation with affected communities, has examined the capacity and capability of the existing community services system to meet the needs of affected community members. Where existing capability and/or capacity is exceeded and there is a requirement for extraordinary services to supplement the system, DCCSDS is able to purchase additional relief, recovery or resilience focussed services.
