For the supply of pontoon maintenance
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) own a 13m patrol vessel “Miranda”. The vessel is berth alongside a floating pontoon (wharf), also owned by DAF. Periodically the pontoon, the attached walkway and chains requires an inspection and maintenance.
The following works are required to maintain the pontoon, the attached walkway and replace the chains holding the pontoon to the adjacent bank:
• Remove pontoon from the water,
• Waterblast underwater surfaces,
• Inspect the pontoons for water tight integrity and deterioration,
• Sandblast if required,
• Supply and replace anodes,
• Remove and replace timber decking with non-skid plastic decking,
• Refit the existing storage container to the pontoon,
• Remove walkway, sandblast to remove surface rust and repaint,
• Return walkway to site,
• Return pontoon to the water,
• Replace the chains securing the pontoon to the bank,
• Remove/replace electrical power supply from main switch board to the pontoon, including the power outlet on the pontoon,
• Remove/reinstall existing water supply,
• Remove/reinstall existing fuel supply power to fuel pump,
• Complete by 20/12/17.
• Arrange alternative berthing for patrol vessel (13m) during the works.
