The Queensland Art Gallery has a requirement to engage a suitably qualified contractor to undertake works for the construction of the James Turrell lighting installation.
The project involves the installation of approximately 1,000 light fittings within the cavity behind the existing glass façade of the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). The light fittings will illuminate the entirety of the glass façade on the southern and eastern sides of the building. The installation will be a permanent artwork acquisition for QAGOMA’s Collection, commissioned from internationally renowned artist, James Turrell (United States, b.1943).

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
The Principal will assess tenders to ensure they conform to the following mandatory requirements:
- Full attendance by the Tenderer at the scheduled Mandatory Industry Briefing (MIB) / site inspection;
- Completion in full and submission of all Response Schedules with tender submission
- Minimum PQC3 Accredited Contractor
- Tenderers are strongly advised to validate their PQC Accreditation including "Project Status" i.e. ensure eligibility to work within Museums/Galleries
- Tenderers are required to validate their accreditation directly with PQC
MANDATORY INDUSTRY BRIEFING
A mandatory industry briefing (MIB) will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 20 September 2017 at the Gallery of Modern Art, which will be followed by a site inspection.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME
Submissions must be lodged Strictly by 2PM Australian Eastern Standard Time (Queensland) on Thursday, 05 October, 2017 by lodging hard copies as setout in Section 14 of the Invitation to Offer. Submissions lodged after 2pm are considered late. Acceptance of Late Tenders will be subject to the Conditions of Tender.
