Under the legal assistance services program, the Queensland Government will allocate a total of $325,000 of contingency funding for the delivery of statewide coronial assistance services from 1 April 2017 to 30 June 2020. Practically, this involves the delivery of statewide legal assistance services (primarily legal advice and representation) to grieving families experiencing a coronial inquest, through:
- direct service provision; and
- coordination of pro bono service provision, as required based on locality and demand.
