For the Provision of an Advanced Selective Laser Melting System for Metal Additive Manufacturing

The purpose of this Invitation to Offer is to obtain competitive offers from suppliers who can supply, deliver, install and maintain an advanced selective laser melting system for metal additive manufacturing for the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, at The University of Queensland (UQ).

The School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering are looking to purchase a state-of-the-art selective laser melting (SLM) system for metal additive manufacturing (AM). As AM is considered a very advanced technology, it has attracted increasing interest in both research and industry applications. Although UQ researchers have started research on AM, currently, a metal SLM system is currently unavailable to UQ. The purchase of a SLM system will enable UQ researchers to develop innovative manufacturing processes for a wide range of industrial applications. This will improve UQ’s capacity to maintain a leading position in the relevant areas and will also enhance our teaching capabilities.
