The Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG) is responsible for the administration of justice in Queensland. Youth Justice, the DJAG business area for the administration of the Youth Justice Act 1992 (Qld), addresses youth offending and improves community safety by ensuring young people take responsibility for their criminal behaviour while addressing the underlying causes of offending.
Youth Justice is seeking a proposal for a Supervised Bail Accommodation (SBA) service for young people in South East Queensland. The purpose of the SBA is to purchase a client-centred, culturally safe, trauma informed short term accommodation service for young people who are bailed to the SBA and are at risk of being remanded in custody.
The South East Queensland (Logan Reserve) SBA service is expected to start receiving client referrals in January 2018.
Funding for the delivery of the SBA service will be provided under the Community Serrvies Act 2007.
