| The University of Queensland (“UQ”, including “we”, “our” or “us”) seeks offers for the supply of hardware, software, implementation services and support to implement an upgraded wireless network solution across all UQ campuses.
UQ has a large Cisco 802.11n wireless network composed of approximately 5,000 access points (AP) deployed across all campuses including the 3 major campuses at St Lucia, Gatton and Herston and approximately 40 other locations throughout South-East Queensland. This wireless network solution requires to be upgraded to meet the needs of the University into the 2020’s.
UQ is in the process of making wireless the primary access method for UQ’s staff, students and visitors (the UQ Community). Therefore, the UQ Community needs a seamless wireless experience irrespective of their location, whether indoor or outdoor.
UQ’s campuses cover a large and diverse geographical space including high density buildings and large open outdoor areas. It is pertinent that a proposed solution is able to provide seamless, transparent and high speed network coverage throughout the defined coverage scope.
