Develop Burnett Basin hydrology model

The Queensland Hydrology Group, within the Water Planning and Coastal Sciences Branch of the Science Division of the Department of Environment and Science (DES), has been developing, applying and maintaining daily hydrology models for water resource systems in Queensland for use in:
1. Reviewing allocatable yields;
2. Determining the impacts of changing management system, e.g. announced allocation policies, releases from mines;
3. Determining the impact on river systems of augmentation proposals;
4. The development of Water Plans and Resource Operation Plans. WP’s & ROPs are being developed to ensure the sustainable use and management of catchments water resources by describing the total water resource of the catchment, defining all existing entitlements and including environmental flow provisions.

The purpose of the tasks outlined in this brief is to engage a contractor who can provide timely expert assistance to ensure that DES will meet the commitments agreed under the MOU with Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.
