Queensland Climate Ready Program
In order to ensure a meaningful uptake and application of climate change risk management throughout the Queensland Government, DES need support to engage with senior leaders and staff from other departments to:
• Shift the narrative around climate change from one of environmental and moral obligation, to one of economic imperative and risk management.
• Build awareness and understanding of climate change risks within Queensland Government departments.
• Encourage and facilitate whole-of-government responses to climate change risk identification and management.
• Build the capacity within Queensland Government departments to make effective and responsive decisions to manage climate change risks and opportunities.
• Access and utilise expert advice and support as needed to address climate change adaptation and climate change risk management issues.
