The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services is seeking to procure nursing services from medical and health organisations. These services will be delivered by clinical nurses who will be out-posted to work from departmentally funded child and family support services.
The provision of nursing services will ensure that families have access to targeted health and child development information and assessments within the family support service, resulting in early identification and intervention and better links to universal and specialist services. These services must be delivered by a clinical nurse.
The clinical nurse role will build the capabilities of parents to promote the healthy development of their children. It will also support parents to navigate the health, mental health and drug and alcohol service systems. In addition, the role will provide support and advice to the family support workers in Intensive Family Support and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Wellbeing Services with regard to the health issues being experienced by families.
