The Queensland Government through the Queensland Museum (QM) is seeking proposals for a Building Contractor to undertake the Anzac Legacy Gallery (ALG) exhibition fitout works portion at the Queensland Museum, Southbank.

QM has issued this Invitation to Offer (ITO) with the objective of engaging a suitably qualified Contractor with a minimum PQC (Pre-qualified Contractor) Level 3 to undertake the fitout works with site possession anticipated Monday, 2 July 2018 (or date of acceptance of tender whichever is earlier) with practical completion Monday, 10 September 2018 to ensure the space continues to meet the needs of the museum’s visitors.

The scope of the fitout Works generally comprise of (but not limited to):

  • onsite management and coordination of other Principal nominated contractors including (but may not be limited to): Showcase installer, Graphics supplier, Multimedia supplier, Mephisto plinth supplier and Honeywell Security contractor;
  • protection of existing foyer artwork, the Mephisto Tank and the progressive installation of work by others (including the showcases, graphics and multimedia);
  • buildout and cutout of existing walls as specified (note; integrated showcase no 1.);
  • incorporation of tapering wall battens;
  • fabrication and installation of;
    • plywood showcase plinths faced with travertine, and plywood benches faced with travertine;
    • structural steel showcase support brackets;
    • folded steel pedestals for multimedia hardware;
    • joinery to support interactive multimedia tables;
    • suspended mirrors above ‘Mephisto” including steel frame;
  • floor levelling generally and feathering of junctions between travertine/carpet, existing timber floor/concrete slab, and carpet over steel baseplates;
  • general works for; the installation of the QM supplied carpet and travertine flooring, painting and making good, and setting plasterboard ceiling and ceiling battens; and
  • electrical works associated with power, data/communications, and audio visual, and the installation of general and specialist lighting.

As detailed in the ITO – Specification & General Information document, a Mandatory Industry Briefing and Site Inspection will take place on this Tuesday, 8 May 2018 at 3.00pm (sharp) in the QM Theatre located within the Queensland Museum, Corner Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Brisbane QLD 4101.
Tenderers are requested to please read the specific details and register their attendees to the briefing in accordance with the information, and by the date and times, stated in sections 5, 6 and 7 of the ITO.

Note: Only those Contractors who meet the PQC eligible tender list requirements, and who attend the MIB are eligible to submit a tender.
