Victim Assist Queensland (VAQ) is an administrative arm of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG). Through its work with the broad victim support sector in Queensland, VAQ has found that one-off projects aimed at building capacity can help bridge gaps and build systems of support which better respond to victims of violent crime and their recovery needs.
DJAG is inviting offers which identify and evidence a gap in services/support for victims of violence and provide one-off project responses to help address the identified gap under the 2017-18 Victim Services Building Capacity Funding Program.
The objective of the Building Capacity Program is to build the capacity of service providers and the community to address evidenced service delivery gaps for victims of crime in Queensland.
The beneficiaries of the funding are victims of crime, their family and friends who may have been directly or indirectly affected by violent crime which occurred in Queensland.
Applicants must be incorporated, not-for profit organisations which are experienced in supporting victims of violent crime.
