Slashing and Associated Services for Minjerribah Fire Trail Maintenance

DNRME require a licensed contractor to complete slashing and associated services for fire trail maintenance on Unallocated State Land (USL) across Minjerribah. The slashing is to be carried out at regular interval across a 12 month period. A contract would be put in place for initial 12 month period with option to extended 2 x 12 months making this a possible 3 year contract. It will be at DNRME absolute discretion if related associated services are carried out by the Supplier, this may include such things as:
• Forest Mulching.
• Planned Burn Activities.
• Manual Fuel Hazard Reduction.
• Wildfire Response.
• Cultural Heritage Assessment.
• Pest Plant and Animal Management.
• Fuel Hazard Assessment.
• Supply and install of gates.
The contractor would be required to undertake the following duties:
a. The Supplier will be required to undertake all of the slashing works as identified in
Attachment 1 – Overview Maps (including KMZ files) and Attachment 2 – Schedule of Works and Pricing. Offers made for only selected locations will be considered to be non-conforming.

b. The Supplier will be required to undertake the number of passes per year identified in Attachment 2 – Schedule of Works and Pricing. It is the Suppliers responsibility to manage the scheduling of the passes throughout the 12 month period of the contract to ensure that all scheduled works are effectively maintained (for example more frequent passes in high growth periods or scheduling around climatic conditions).

c. The Customer does not guarantee the total amount of slashing and mowing services identified in Attachment 2 – Schedule of Works and Pricing. For example, service scheduling requirements may vary due to climatic conditions or other unanticipated scenarios. However, the Customer will take reasonable steps to replace or reschedule any cancelled works with other works during the contract period.  The Customer may direct the Supplier to undertake scheduled works at nominated times during the contract term. Suppliers should contact the Customer if they require further direction or advice with regard to the timing of the passes.

d. The Supplier will be required to provide adequate reporting of completed works at regular intervals throughout the contract period. Reporting, as a minimum should include before and after photos with relevant comments after each main area run.
e.  The Supplier may be required to carry out the related associated services as and when required by the Customer during the contract term.
