Provision of Aerial Training Services for NRIFAEP

The National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program (NRIFAEP) within the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), has a requirement as per the Aerial specific task and risk assessment (STARA) to ensure all current aerial staff and other proposed support staff are trained and fully compliant when working around aircraft.

The course unit PUAFIR209B Work Safely Around Aircraft is mandatory as stated in the Aerial STARA and covers the necessary mitigation to reduce the risk associated with working around aircraft.

Additional course components from unit AVIF3006 Respond to Abnormal and Emergency Situations in an Aircraft would need to be incorporated into the training for any staff or contractors working around aircraft.

The training will need to be undertaken using the Program’s access to aircraft through DAF17046.
