Queensland Rail is currently implementing an ETCS L1 trackside solution between Caboolture and Gympie North. The enhancement of operational safety is the primary benefit.
An ETCS Level 2 on-board system is to be fitted on the New Generation Rolling (NGR) Stock, which will be delivered by a separate project.
The ETCS NCL project is currently in the implementation phase with a planned project practical completion date of June 2019. As this is the first instance of ETCS technology installation in Queensland Rail, there is a need to update and align the existing SEMS and Network Asset Management (NAM) Signal Engineering QMS documents within Queensland Rail to facilitate the introduction of the ETCS system.
It has been recognised by Queensland Rail that there is a need to appoint an external Technical Services provider, with demonstrated experience in the writing and updating of asset management standards, to assist with its below rail business readiness (technical) activities associated with the introduction of trackside ETCS equipment. Details of the activities, scope and responsibility of the Technical Services provider are detailed in the Statement of Work.
