| The Department of Environment and Science (DES) is seeking a suitability qualified supplier to provide an external review of Work Health and Safety Arrangements.
The review will provide clarity for the Safety Strategy for DES.
The review will advise how the department’s system for managing WHS aligns with:
- The legislative requirements applicable to WHS, primarily the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
- The international standard for WHS Management Systems, ISO 45001
- The Public Service Commission’s Be Healthy, be Safe, Be Well Framework
- Practice across industry for benchmarking comparative high risk activities.
The review will identify differences in WHS maturity and risk management practices across each division of the department.
The review will identify strengths and opportunities for improvement and make specific recommendations in regard to the departments system for managing WHS with the purpose of having one system, departmentally sharing resources across Divisions.
